Lansing- Drew Valentine announced at his press conference, today at Lansing Sexton, that he would accept a scholarship to play basketball at Oakland University. Valentine had offers in both basketball and football and was still being evaluated by other D-1 programs but the 6-4 wing felt like it was time to make a choice.
Valentine is currently recovering from a torn ACL injury and everything is heading in the right direction towards becoming 100%. Valentine will give Oakland a versatile player that can do a number of things on the hardwood. Valentine can handle the ball as well as score in a variety of ways, but with that being said Valentine's biggest attributes are his defensive toughness and leadership skills.
