FINALS: DIVISION 5

**Ovid Elsie's Chris Robinson**
**Chris Robinson drags a defender**
**Luke Cole stays in bounds after making a catch**

With less than a 15 seconds till halftime and trialing 13-7, Ovid-Elsie's Cameron Hurst intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards to the Oakridge 33 yard line with just one second left. O-E then threw a 33 yard TD from Jason Goosen to David Russek to end the half up 14-13.

Matt Eaker's 16 yard run regained the lead for Muskegon Oakridge, 19-14, a minute into the fourth quarter. On the ensuing possession O-E was set to go for a 4th-and-1, but a delay of game forced them to punt. Oakridge regained possession with 9 minutes to play in the fourth quarter and went 75 yards in 10 plays to milk the clock down to 3:14 and finish the drive with a 11 yard TD run from Mike Shoop to take a commanding 26-14 lead.

BREAKDOWN

Oakridge- controlled the whole game and even though they trailed at halftime it took some luck for OE to get the lead. Oakridge controlled the clock and in the fourth quarter O-E's defense couldn't get them off the field when they needed to.

OE- I understand they didn't many offensive plays but you still got to feed Chris Robinson. He's the reason you got to Ford Field and 14 touches won't cut it.

Game MVP: Mike Shoop, Oakridge- ran 24 times for 178 yards and a TD. Shoops ability to find cut back lanes kept the chains moving.

Chris Robinson, O-E only had the 14 touches but still ran for 117 yards and a TD. His season total of 2,844 is good enough for third most yards in a single season in Michigan history. I always worry about how good Tri-Valley Conference backs can be in college but Robinson is a true D-1 prospect- he has the speed and power to go with great field vision.
