**Jared Johnson splits a pair of tacklers**
**Brian Johnson sacks Bob Reid**
BREAKDOWN
Colin Kolkema, MCC- the fullback led the way all day and constantly ran over defenders. He was rewarded with 5 touches that allowed him to gain 82 yards and TD.
Adrian Baker, MCC- the 6-0/240 pound D-end/tight end made a physical presence on both sides of the ball. Baker had a pair of sacks.
It didn't come to any surprise that the division 8 final was a lopsided affair as Muskegon Catholic Central shutout the defending champs- Crystal Falls Forest Park 40-0.
Back in week 3 I had the opportunity to watch Muskegon beat Country Day 35-6 and I knew then that the Crusaders would just walk through the small school division, but I also thought the defending champs would at least be able to find the endzone.
Muskegon's defense shined as they allowed Forest Park to pick up only four first downs and 129 yards of total offense. However the key stat to the game was that Muskegon held Forest Park to 0 for 13 on third and fourth down conversions. Forest Park's inability to move the ball gave Catholic Central great field position and Muskegon cashed in.

The Crusaders were able to find plenty of running room from the very start, and didn’t need any misdirection or trick plays to get it, they simply ran right into the heart of Forest Park’s defense. Quarterback Jared Johnson struck first with a 71 yard scamper with 5:30 to play in the first. Johnson then found Brian Johnson for a 38 yard touchdown pass to take a 14-0 lead two minutes into the second quarter. Muskegon C.C. tacked on two more second quarter touchdowns to pretty much decide the game before the half came around. Steve Mitchelle raced in from 32 yards, while Rodney Anderson scored from 23 yards out for the second TD.
Colin Kolkema added a 20 yard run in the third quarter to make the score 33-0 and Major Metcalf finished the scoring with a 85 yard run just 45 seconds into the fourth quarter.
BREAKDOWN
Muskegon C.C.- the Crusaders just physically dominated this game in every aspect. They knocked at least four Trojans out of the game and it easily could have been more. The C.C. offense put up big yardage but their defense controlled this game by limiting Forest Park and it seems like every other tackle was in the Trojan backfield.
Forest Park- in the second half you could just sense Forest Park was just trying to get home healthy. A team that lives off of the run game couldn’t even muster positive yardage. No shame because they won it last year and just returning is a huge accomplishment but it was obvious who the better team was.
Game MVP: Jared Johnson, MCC- Johnson isn't your typical throwing QB, although he did complete 3 of 5 for 51 yards and a TD. Johnson killed Forest park with his feet as he totalled 156 yards and a score on 11 rushes.
