Oh so close... so close.... The state of Michigan almost had the match-ups they wanted in getting to see the Michigan teams battle it out but none of them could advance. The Mustangs fell to Mac Irvin Fire by 12 points, if they would of won they would have received a rematch against the Grand Rapids Storm. The Storm, without Ben Simons, was able to advance with a win over the Michigan Hurricanes.In another gold game the Motor City Mavericks and The Family would have played each other in the second round but neither could pull out a win. The Family fell in OT while the Motor City Mavericks trimmed a 18 point half time deficit to 2 points but couldn't get any closer.
On the good side of things both the Mustangs and the GR Storm were knocked out by the Mac Irvin Fire (Chicago), who went on to win the gold championship. The Storm only lost to the Fire by two points, bringing up the question- Are they the best 17-u team in Michigan.
REACH Legends and the West Michigan Lakers both found success in the silver division with the Lakers advancing to the "final 4".
